We are the Learning Disability Service for Hampshire and Southampton. 

We work with adults who have had a learning disability since childhood and: 

  • find it hard to understand new or difficult information
  • find it hard to learn new skills 
  • find it hard to cope independently

We have Community Learning Disability Health Teams in


All new referrals to the service go to the Learning Disability Service - Single Point of Access

For referrals already open to the service, continue to contact your local team. 

We also have a team that provides support for people with behaviours that challenge, it is called the Intensive Support Team (IST). Your Community Learning Disability Team will refer you if needed.

Hospital liaison team for people with learning disabilities (this service is hosted by Southern Health. It is available in Andover, Winchester and Basingstoke Hospitals).
