Fordingbridge Hospital

We provide a range of community services at the hospital alongside our inpatient ward. These include:

Ford Ward is a 15 bedded unit which consists of three bays and three side rooms. It has a large day room, dining room and therapy room which are all conducive to rehabilitation. The team working here includes physicians, nurses, social worker and therapists.

Patients are admitted from Poole General Hospital, Bournemouth Hospital, Salisbury District Hospital, Winchester Hospital and Southampton General. They are admitted to us for rehab following an acute admission.

Ford Ward aspires to deliver excellent standards of care in an environment that is well organised, has a high standard of cleanliness and has highly trained staff who are experts in their field. We strive to be a unit of excellence that enhances the patient journey by providing an environment which is conducive to rehabilitation. Multi-disciplinary teamwork is encouraged with the patient being at the centre of everything we do, and their choice dictating the paths we take.

Ward visiting times vary, please call the ward to check the current visiting guidance and to book an appointment. Maximum of two visitors per bed at a time are permitted and you are requested not to visit if you have signs or symptoms of any infection.

Please note, we aim for quiet mealtimes and rest times, staff will be able to advise when these are. Sometimes staff may have to ask you to leave due to clinical reasons, we really appreciate your support with this.
