Why work in the community?
We provide a range of community health services across Hampshire. Our services aim to promote and improve health and wellbeing. We also provide older people’s mental health services in the community and through our inpatient wards.
Our staff work in Integrated Care Teams which see multi-disciplinary staff work together to provide a comprehensive care package to our patients. This may include community nurses, mental health nurses, social workers and AHPs all part of the same team.
We provide adult health inpatient services at seven community hospitals, which vary in size, across Hampshire:
Lymington New Forest Hospital | Romsey Hospital | Gosport War Memorial Hospital
Alton Hospital |Fordingbridge Hospital | Petersfield Hospital
Southern Health is responsible, wholly or in part, for 12 community hospitals all over Hampshire, offering a huge variety of services from end of life care to short-term in patient nursing care.
We also provide community services, urgent care through Minor Injuries Units and specialist nurse teams supporting specific conditions such as diabetes community services.
Working in the community allows you to have a fantastic work - life balance, with lots of flexibility and varied work.
