Head of Charity, Ian Hynd and Head of Chaplaincy, Spiritual and Pastoral Care, Nick Fennemore
Southern Health raised over £760 for Trust charity, Brighterway after hosting an NHSBigTea event on Tuesday 2 July at Tatchbury Mount. Over 150 people attended, to celebrate the NHS’ 71st Birthday whilst raising money for Brighterway through a raffle, cake sale and silent auction.
Amy Donelan, Tea Party attendee commented;
“It was a brilliant afternoon, I may not have won anything in the raffle but it still gave my team and I an opportunity to sit down with our co-workers and have a ‘natter’ over a slice of cake- and all for a good cause! Well done Brighterway!”
Ian Hynd, Head of the Trusts charity Brighterway commented,
“We are over the moon with the amount of support that we received on Tuesday. I would like to say thank you to everyone who donated cakes and raffle prizes and also everyone who gave their time to help us set up and transform the garden- it looked fantastic!”
The event was held as part of the national #NHSBigTea campaign led by NHS Charities Together. The main aim of the campaign was to provide an occasion for people up and down the country to get together and toast the NHS whilst supporting NHS Charities.
Ian added; “NHSBigTea gave us an opportunity to showcase and highlight some of the great work that we do here at Brighterway and we look forward to taking part in more events in the coming months.”
