Julie Dawes
Julie Dawes
Julie Dawes, Interim Chief Executive 

Julie is an experienced Director of Nursing and AHPs with a background in both clinical and general management. She has previously held Director of Nursing positions with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Portsmouth’s Hospitals NHS Trust and Central South Coast Cancer Network. Julie’s clinical background focuses on oncology and palliative care nursing with many of her clinical years spent working on the South Coast. 

Chris Gordon
Dr Chris Gordon, Director of Patient Safety 

Chris joined the Trust in April 2014, having been interim Chief Executive of Winchester and Eastleigh Hospitals Trust. He has also worked with the CQC and at a national level within the Leadership Academy. He is an Elderly Care Consultant with a specialist interest in Parkinsons’ Disease. 

Sandra Grant
Sandra Grant, Director of People and Communications

Sandra has been with the Trust since its inception. She is CIPD Post Graduate qualified and leads our People Management functions, leadership development and training for our staff, our Communications team and creating the culture we need within the Trust to help everyone deliver our goals. Additionally she leads on Equality and Diversity and occupational health. Sandra influences at a national level working with the King’s Fund, NHS Providers’ Network and National Staff Council.

Mark Brooks
Paula Anderson, Interim Finance Director

Paula joined the Trust in 2009, and was appointed as Deputy Director of Finance in 2014. Prior to this, Paula’s finance experience was within commissioning, including the Finance Director for Mid-Hampshire PCT between 2001-2006. As part of her role at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Paula leads on Finance, Estates, Procurement and Contracting.

Della Warren
Dr Lesley Stevens, Medical Director

Lesley has been with the Trust for many years as a Consultant in general adult psychiatry and more recently as Medical Director. She previously held academic positions at the University of Southampton. Lesley provides professional leadership for the medical and psychology workforce, including medical revalidation. She leads on patient experience and engagement, research and development, medicines management, charitable funds, clinical strategy, patient experience and engagement and mental health law. As part of her role Lesley is the Caldicott Guardian and the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act lead for the Trust.

chris Ash
Chris Ash, Director of Integrated Services (MCP, West)

Chris joined the Trust in 2012 from Portsmouth Hospitals Trust where he was Associate Chief Operating Officer for Unscheduled Care. Chris is a graduate from the NHS Management Training Scheme and has held roles in Acute, Mental Health and Local Government Services. Most recently Chris was the Trust’s Divisional Director for the Southampton and West Hampshire Integrated Service Division. He now has responsibility for these services as well as for Children’s and Family services, and IT and Information.

Mark Morgan
Mark Morgan, Director of Operations (Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Social Care)

Mark joined the Trust in April 2015 pending a recruitment process to the substantive role. He has worked in interim management since 2007, with a number of senior roles in Foundation and non-foundation Trusts, as well as the independent sector. Originally training as a Mental Health Nurse in 1982, Mark worked in a number of mental health; commissioning and acute settings. Following an interim director role in a private mental health company, Mark decided to become live on the NMC register and undertook his return to practice course in 2014.

Gethin Hughes
Gethin Hughes, Director of Integrated Services (MCP, East)

Since joining the Trust in 2008, Gethin has held several posts including Divisional Director for the South East Integrated Services Division. Gethin previously worked in senior roles within the acute sector in both London and locally. Gethin will continue to lead integrated services in the South East division, adding responsibility for North and North East Divisions and our leading role in the North East Hampshire and Farnham Primary and Acute Care System vanguard.

Paul Streat
Paul Streat, Director of Provider Development

Paul joined in January 2016 from the health sector regulator NHS Improvement where he was Regional Director, accountable for the regulation of all foundation trusts in the South of England. In his eight years at NHS Improvement, Paul has worked with a wide range of foundation trusts to address strategic and performance challenges alongside a regional system leadership role working with NHSE England and the NHS Trust Development Authority. Paul will take the executive lead for delivering the South Hampshire Multispecialty Community Provider Vanguard - Better Local Care, including developing a robust governance framework; oversee the implementation of new models of care, planning and performance management, and external reporting on performance and delivery to regulators.
