Western Community Hospital


Western Community Hospital is based in Southampton and cares for people with a functional mental illness. Western Community Hospital has two wards, Beaulieu Ward and Berrywood Ward. 

Beaulieu Ward is 14 bedded inpatient service, providing assessment, support and treatment for older people with acute organic mental health needs, mainly dementia. 

The ward has its own garden, sitting area and canteen for patients and visitors.

Visiting hours are usually from 2.30pm -5.30pm and from 6.30pm -8pm. Please take a look at our Coronavirus Information pages to find out about our latest visiting restrictions.

Berrywood Ward is an 18 bedded inpatient service providing intensive care, assessment and treatment ward for older people who have acute functional mental health needs, such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

The ward has its own garden, sitting area and canteen for patients and visitors.

Visiting hours are usually from 2.30pm -5pm and 6.30pm-8pm.

On weekends visiting hours are 10am-8.30pm and we ask visitors to avoid meal times.
