Mental health reporting
Journalists looking for information on the most appropriate ways of reporting emotional crises or mental health issues - including suicide - may like to refer to the guidelines by the Samaritans which are supported by most media organisations and professional bodies.
Mental health awareness event – breaking down barriers
Local NHS mental health trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and St Denys Activity Group – supporting mental health in the community, jointly hosted a mental health awareness event in Southampton on Saturday 25 June.

#Red4Research day
On Friday 17 June we were proud to celebrate #Red4Research day, which aims to get as many people as possible wearing red to demonstrate their support and appreciation for all those participating, undertaking and supporting research.


Pride 2022
Our Trust will be supporting Pride this June by raising awareness of LGBT+ community issues and focusing on the theme of intersectionality. We will focus on raising awareness of individuals who have unique experiences of being marginalised and discriminated against because of their intersectionality.

Mental health awareness event – breaking down barriers
Local NHS mental health trust, Southern Health and St Denys Activity Group – supporting mental health in the community, have come together to jointly host a mental health awareness event in Southampton on Saturday 25 June.

Inwood ward opens at Alton Hospital
Alton Community Hospital, re-opens it's doors to a brand new 22 bedded ward, called 'Inwood ward'.
The new first-floor, purpose-built ward has been created to increase the provision of rehabilitation and recovery inpatient care in the area. It will also improve the care we give to patients who are coming to the end of their lives.

Could you be a research #TrailBlazer?
The national TrialBlazer campaign celebrates the community of research volunteers. There are thousands of people who take part in and support trials and studies all over the UK, and today we are celebrating every one of those people International Clinical Trials Day, Friday 20 May.

Local mental health services partners with Shout
Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s NHS 111 mental health triage team, run by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, have partnered with Shout to provide in the moment mental health support to those in the local community. The partnership has been funded by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight CCG.
