BMA Junior Doctors Strikes September 2023

This week Junior Doctors and Consultants, who are members of the BMA, are taking part in strike action starting Tuesday 19 Sepetmber until Friday 22nd September 2023, in an ongoing dispute between unions and the Government over pay. Junior Doctors and Consultants working for Southern Health, are eligible to take part in these strikes.

We support and respect the right of our staff to take part in this lawful industrial action.

Our priority is the keeping our patients and our services safe throughout this industrial action. We have been working with our staff and union partners to manage the impact this may have on patients, visitors, and our colleagues to help us safely manage the impact of industrial action.

Some routine and non-urgent appointments and procedures, in our services, may have been rescheduled.  All patients affected should have already been contacted.

If we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned.

 

Where to go for non-urgent and urgent care

If you need medical help but it's not urgent, then your local Pharmacy, Minor Injuries Unit or GP will be best placed to help. If unsure where to get support  contact NHS 111 who can provide advice and direct you to the best place.

If you are in need of urgent mental Health support, please contact NHS 111 and speak to our Mental Health Triage Service. You can find a list of services available for anyone needing mental health support on our help in a crisis webpage.
