Ravenswood House

Ravenswood House is a medium secure unit providing assessment, care and treatment for adults with serious mental illness.

Who is this service for?

Our service is for people with serious mental illness and/or personality disorder who need to receive their care in a medium secure environment.

Most of our patients have either committed a criminal offence, or have challenging behaviour.  We admit patients from high secure hospitals, local psychiatric hospitals, prisons and the courts.

Ravenswood has an ethos of recovery and our service users have created a stop time animation video which they can share with others both in and out of the service  to describe their experience of being in Secure services,  recovery and return to the local community. This animation is based upon an individual’s real story . This is the first in a series of animations created by service users.

The process of the animation is a learning experience for the individuals involved in the art of film making , an opportunity to explore peoples story’s and share the message of recovery and hope.

  • Solicitors

What our service users say

"I believe that all staff at Ravenswood House should be appreciated for the hard work that they are doing, sometimes in dangerous situations...I believe that one day in each year, staff should get a goody basket with nice things to take home just to show that they are appreciated..."
