What to bring

When you’re admitted to one of our services, we can advise you and your family and carers what you need to bring with you.

Sign for female and male toilets, shower and disabled access

Make sure you bring a sufficient supply of daywear, nightwear and well fitting slippers or shoes. If possible, please make label your clothing, as this helps prevent clothes being lost.

We do have an emergency supply of clothing on each ward, but you will normally feel most comfortable when you’re in your own clothes.

Please make sure you bring toiletries such as:

  • Flannel

  • Soap

  • Deodorant

  • Toothpaste, toothbrush and/or denture cleaner

  • Shampoo

  • Hairbrush or comb

  • Shaving equipment

We provide towels so you won’t need to bring any.

Personal items

Some small personal items such as family photographs or small ornaments will help you stay in touch with home life.

However, please avoid bringing valuables into hospital. We can deposit items in the hospital safe, but we always advise leaving them at home if you can.

You should also bring:

  • Spectacles

  • Hearing aids

  • Magazines or books
