Southern Health’s South East Hampshire Community Diabetes service together with professional colleagues and volunteers from Diabetes UK and The Solent Diabetes Association are celebrating World Diabetes day by hosting an annual patient conference, ‘The Diabetes Puzzle- putting the pieces together’.
The conference is being held at Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth and will be great opportunity for both, newly diagnosed and people have lived with the condition for many years to learn something new that could help them improve their self- management of their diabetes.

The day will consist of a range of presentations on topics such as activity, medication, healthy eating, long term health as well as giving attendees the chance to ask questions directly to health professionals.
Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Karen Morton commented;
“This conference is a great opportunity to learn more about diabetes, for those living with this long term condition or those people who would simply like to know more about it. Talks and presentations on the day will address all of the various elements of living with diabetes, hence the title ‘The Diabetes puzzle- putting the pieces together.”
