Special School Nursing

Special school nursing teams work with specific Special Schools with children and young people who have varying levels of learning disabilities and complex health needs.

Our Service

The Special School nursing service works closely with education, social care and other health professionals to ensure that the health needs of children and young people are met.

Who we are?

We are a team of specialist nurses  who cover the following schools in Hampshire

  • Forest Park School
  • Henry Tyndale
  • Ickneild
  • Osborne
  • Rachel Madocks
  • Shepherds Down
  • St Francis


What do we provide?

We are able to provide advice and support for children, young people and families who have additional needs or vulnerabilities throughout their school years.

We provide signposting and referral to other services and training for school staff to meet your child’s health needs within the school environment.

Who do we work with?

Schools, Social Care, Consultant Paediatricians, Therapy Services, Dieticians, GP, Health visitors, Learning disability nurses, CAMHS, Acute health services – in fact any service that provides a service to meet your child’s health needs!
