Immunisation Team

Our Immunisation team provides vaccinations for Seasonal flu, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), Meningitis ACWY (Men ACWY) and Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (DTP) in schools.

All parents and guardians are advised to check their child or young person’s immunisation record prior to starting school and can discuss this further with their practice nurse or local school nursing team.

Due to the recent outbreaks of Measles, it is important that your child or young person has had the MMR vaccine and this can be discussed with your GP or practice nurse.

Current PHE Immunisation schedule:

Our recently developed immunisation teams in Hampshire (excluding Southampton and Portsmouth City) currently deliver the HPV vaccination to all year 8 girls  in school or at clinic for those who are home educated. During the 2019/20 academic year this programme will be extended to include boys.

All parents and guardians of young people in Year 8 will receive a consent form from there school in the spring/summer term. It is important you complete and return the form as soon as possible.

Any female in year 8 (2018/19) or above who has not started the HPV immunisation programme can still access this through the Immunisation team. Please complete and sign the vaccination consent form and return it to your local immunisation team.

The teenage booster programme which includes Men ACWY and the DTP vaccine is offered to all pupils in year 9 by the immunisation teams. A consent form will be sent home with your child from school.

If you have any questions about the HPV immunisation or the Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio booster, please contact your local team or family doctor.
