Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is inviting everyone to its “Your voices shape our vision” event on Tuesday 11 September at Winchester Guildhall. The event will feature a unique collection of artwork from service users and patients, an insight into the services provided by the Trust, as well as hosting the Trust’s Annual Members’ Meeting. All are welcome to attend.
During the evening attendees will hear from patients, service users and carers involved in Southern Health, see artwork, photography produced by service users from the Trust’s inpatient wards and community groups and have an opportunity to talk to staff and service users about the Trust. There will be stands from the Trust’s diverse range of services showcasing what they have been doing this year, many including activities and health checks – from community healthcare and mental health to learning disability and specialist services. A full programme will be available nearer the date. There will also be the opportunity to meet members of the Trust Board and Council of Governors.
Lynne Hunt, Chair of Southern Health, said: “I am very much looking forward to it. We have chosen the theme of our vision for this year, focusing our minds on highlighting the voices of patients, families, carers and staff. As the NHS turns 70, we will also be taking the opportunity to celebrate our successes and look to the future transformation of our services.”
The evening will also include the formal presentation of the Trust’s annual report by the Chief Executive, Dr Nick Broughton, who commented “I’m really looking forward to this year’s event. It will be my first one as Chief Executive and will give us the opportunity to tell everyone about the recent developments within the trust and more importantly show them through our service users and staff the improvements which have been made. So much has happened in the last year, and most recently the NHS Improvement announcement of the lifting of some of the undertakings that have been imposed on us demonstrates that we are making genuine progress in changing the culture of the organisation to one that continuously improves and learns. Do come along and find out more. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.”
The event will take place at the Wintonian Rooms at Winchester Guildhall, Broadway, High Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9GH 5-8pm, with the formal presentations of the Annual Members’ Meeting starting at 6pm. Light refreshments will be available.
