Western Hospital is in Southampton and cares for men and women with a functional mental illness (such as depression, a personality disorder or schizophrenia) or an organic mental illness (such as dementia).

Beaulieu Ward

Beaulieu Ward is a short-stay admission, assessment and treatment ward providing care for older people with organic mental health needs, mainly dementia. 

Visiting hours are usually from 2.30pm to 5.30pm and from 6.30pm to 8.00pm and the ward has its own garden, sitting area and canteen for patients and visitors.

Berrywood Ward

Berrywood Ward is an assessment and treatment ward providing care for older people who have functional mental health needs (such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia) and are unable to look after themselves or be looked after at home. 

Visiting hours are usually from 2.30pm to 5.00pm and 6.30pm to 8.00pm (weekends it is 10.00am to 8.30pm, avoiding mealtimes). 

The ward has its own garden, sitting area and canteen for patients and visitors.

Western Community Hospital has onsite parking for visitors and disabled parking close to the entrance. There are a number of bus routes with stops near the hospital too.
