Parklands is based in Basingstoke (next to the main North Hampshire Hospital) and has functional and organic mental health wards for adults, plus a specialist military personnel ward. It also has a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Beechwood Ward

Beechwood Ward is an assessment and treatment ward providing care for older people who have functional mental health needs (such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia) and are unable to look after themselves or be looked after at home. Visiting hours are between 10.00am and 8.30pm (avoiding meal times). The ward has its own garden and seating area for patients and visitors.

Elmwood Ward

Elmwood Ward is a 18-bed ward providing care for older people who have organic mental health needs and are unable to look after themselves or be looked after at home. Some patients have early onset dementia. Visiting hours are between 10.00am and 8.30pm (avoiding meal times). The ward has its own garden and seating area for patients and visitors and there is a sensory room to help improve cognitive functioning.

Hawthorns Wards

Hawthorns 1: is a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This is a safe, secure and low stimulus ward environment, separate to the rest of an inpatient unit, with a greater number of staff per patient, allowing us to provide more intensive care.

Visiting hours are every day from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

Hawthorns 2: is a 29-bed ward for adults who have functional mental health needs and require an inpatient stay. This includes 6 specialist beds for serving MoD personnel - treating around 85 people each year from the armed forces with conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorder, bi-polar and schizophrenia.

Visiting hours are every day from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
