Antelope House is a small hospital in Southampton dedicated to the treatment of mental health. 

Antelope House has three wards. Saxon Ward (for men) and Trinity Ward (for women) treat people with a functional mental illnesses – such as depression, a personality disorder or schizophrenia. The third ward, called Hamtun Ward, is a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Visiting hours are 2.00pm to 5.00pm and then 6.30pm to 8.00pm every day. To contact the hospital, including Saxon Ward, Trinity Ward and the PICU, please call: 02380 835500.

Getting here

The hospital is located on Brintons Terrace just off St Mary’s Road and Onslow Road and near the Jurys Inn roundabout. It is on the Royal South Hants Hospital site.

There are several pay and display car parks on the site – including one for disabled access only. Charges are: £1.50 for an hour, £2 for 2 hours, £3 for 3 hours, £4 for 4 hours, £5 for 5 hours, £6 for 10 hours and £8 for a 24 hour period.

A number of buses (Uni-link U6 and First 21 and 21A) stop near Antelope House.
