Who we are and what we do?

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1 April 2011 following the merger of Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Community Health Care.

We received Foundation Trust status in April 2009 under the name Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We are now one of the largest providers of mental health, learning disability, social care and community services in the country.

We are regulated by NHS Improvement, the independent regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts. NHS Improvement's role is to ensure that NHS Foundation Trusts comply with the conditions they signed up to, they are well-led and financially robust.

Information about the Trust, such as Finance and Risk Rating which can also be compared against other Trusts, can be found on their website.

Further information on how the Trust fits into the wider health economy is available via the Department of Health's Overview of Health and Care Structures factsheet.

The Trust is managed by a Board of Directors made up of Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors. The Board is led by the Chair.

Each member of the Board has a profile that can be viewed, using the links above, to give you further information and also their key responsibilities.

The organisational structure highlights the Trust's reporting lines.

We are a secondary healthcare provider for local and regional commissioners such as University Hospital Southampton and the local Clinical Commissioning Groups.

The Trust's services are sometimes provided in partnership with non-NHS organisations, for example we work closely with local authorities to provide Adult Mental Health and Learning Disability Services.
