On Friday 14 February, a small group comprising service users, carers and Quality Improvement (QI) facilitators came together at The Colebrook Centre in Winchester to design and co-produce a training package for service users and carers wanting to participate in a Rapid Process Improvement Week (RPIW).
Facilitated by the Trust’s Expert by Experience Co-ordinator, Nathan Clifford, the group discussed the issues patients and carers can face when they are involved in QI projects, including the opportunity to learn some key QI principles to ensure everyone is empowered with the same knowledge and the inclusion of peer support.
The session really was co-production in action and forms an integral part of the Trust’s Quality Improvement Strategy’s commitment to strengthen the ways the Trust supports its service users to contribute to continuous Quality Improvement.
The first training session is planned for April before the next cohort of QI projects.
