Running for Brighterway
A group of runners representing Southern Health, including colleagues and service users, will be taking to the streets of Southampton and joining the APB 10k run to support the Trust's charity, Brighterway!
Brighterway support projects across the Trust that help to improve the health and wellbeing of patients with funding for new equipment, improved facilities, pilot projects and innovations. Kingsley Ward, an acute mental health ward run, recently launched the start of a new craft group with the help from Brighterway, which gives patients and staff the opportunity to learn new skills and socialise together.
Training has commenced with many team members involved in park runs and runfit sessions in the New Forest. The team will be running to raise money for our Trust charity, Brighterway, supporting projects across the Trust that improve the health and wellbeing of patients. A craft group from Kingsley Ward at Melbury Lodge has recently received funding from the charity and has given patients and staff an opportunity to socialise.
Are you signed up to the 10k run? Why not join the team representing Southern Health and raise money for a charity that could benefit your team? For more information about the team and limited funded spaces, please contact Sarah Olley.
Any donations to the charity are greatly appreciated and will all go towards projects within the Trust to benefit the wellbeing of our patients!
