I am married and enjoy being with family and friends, taking holidays in new places, living in Winchester, relaxing in Devon, volunteering on the Watercress Line and being actively involved in the community. I have three grown up children and nine grandchildren.
I aim to represent Southern Health patients and service users and ensure their views are reflected in key decisions about the provision of health care into the future. My background and skills enable me to do this whilst working with, supporting and yet challenging the Trust Board and keeping them accountable to the public.
I was a Senior Civil Servant with HM Treasury and the Department for Education and an NHS Finance Director before becoming Chief Executive of an addictions recovery charity. I am a qualified accountant, associate of the Royal Society of Medicine and a grateful NHS patient.
My experience of serving the community includes being a University Governor, member of a Probation Board, a NHS Non-Executive Director, Chairman of Winchester City Council’s Standards Committee and Winchester U3A. I am currently Chairman of Hope Church Trustees, a Director of the Mid Hampshire Railway Preservation Society, Trustee of an international Christian charity and a Winchester City Chaplain.
