Black History Month

3 October 2022

October is national Black History Month, each year the Trust uses this month to celebrate achievements from people with ethnic minority backgrounds and importantly help raise awareness of inequalities some communities may face.

This year we have chosen the theme of Health and Wellness. The main areas we will be focusing on are celebrating people, demonstrating we are an Anti-racist organisation, educating the discourse of the awareness month, and raising awareness of the inequalities people faced during and after the pandemic due to COVID-19.

We have organished a vararity of events for our staff including talks from influential people, training sessions to become a Trust ally and we are hosting a panel to hear from our inspiring international nurses two years on.

Throughout the month we will be sharing our key messages about Black History Month and stories from our staff on both our internal and external channels aligned with our theme of Health and Wellness.

If you would like to get involved, you can download some of our graphics, share our important messages on social media and use the hashtag #BlackHistoryMonth. We will be posting stories and blogs from our staff on this page throughout the month.
