We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the norm and to always put patients first. Our staff need to have patients at their every thought, whether they’re in the office helping manage the financial accounts, or working on a ward providing direct patient care. We want staff who will live our Trust values every day.
We know that a strong workforce should be a diverse one, with a mix of skills, strengths and abilities.
We also welcome applications from people who have experience of mental illness. We’re committed to equal opportunities, and try to support staff wherever possible to help them to work flexibly.
We need more health visitors
Although we have a diverse range of opportunities available, at the moment there’s a high demand nationally for health visitors.
Health visitors are registered nurses or midwives who have undertaken further specialist training. They work with women throughout pregnancy and with children from birth until they’re five years old. They also provide support to parents and family involved in caring for a child.
To help make sure that children and parents receive the support they need . An extra 4,200 visitors need to be recruited across the country – Southern Health is looking to recruit to this role across Hampshire.
If you’re interested in becoming a health visitor in Hampshire (excluding Southampton and Portsmouth), please email Liz.Taylor@southernhealth.nhs.uk. Eligibility criteria and contacts for other areas are on the NHS South Central website.
