We provide a range of community health services across Hampshire. Our services aim to promote and improve health and wellbeing. We also provide older people’s mental health services in the community and through our inpatient wards.
Our staff work in Integrated Care Teams which see multi-disciplinary staff work together to provide a comprehensive care package to our patients. This may include community nurses, mental health nurses, social workers and AHPs all part of the same team.

Older people’s mental health
We provide assessment, treatment and support to older people with mental illness in the community and across number of inpatient sites in Hampshire.
Some of our inpatient units include:
- Western Community Hospital –provides inpatient care to older people with mental health needs in Southampton. This includes assessment and treatment for older people who have functional mental health needs. We also have an acute admission (short stay) ward for older people with organic mental health needs.
- Parklands Hospital, Basingstoke - provides assessment for older people with organic acute mental health problems and functional mental health problems.
- Gosport War Memorial Hospital - provides holistic care for older people who have acute mental health needs . The majority of our patients have memory needs, where they experience difficulties with daily life.
- Melbury Lodge, Winchester - provides assessment and treatment for older people with organic and/or functional mental health needs.
