Set in its own grounds, an award winning purpose built hospital provides a comprehensive treatment programme for young people experiencing acute mental illness, such as depression and psychotic disorders.
Referrals to the Service
'Young people are usually referred to this service by a community child and adolescent psychiatrist, with the agreement of the young person and their family or carers.
This can be via letter, telephone calls or secure fax.
Please note: we do not accept self-referrals.
Information about Leigh House
Each young person has a ‘core team’ who help develop and monitor treatment plans and progress. A wide range of therapies, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (which aims to change the way you think and feel) are incorporated into young people’s treatment programmes. Treatment plans are developed with individual needs in mind.
We have our own school on site, where the education team provide learning within a supportive environment. We also have a games room, art room, sport hall and fitness studio. See what the Daily Routine looks like.

Young people at Leigh House will be there for the shortest time possible. We work closely with local child and adolescent mental health services to make sure young people continue to get the support they need once they leave Leigh House.
