Dryad is a 16 bedded ward providing care for older people who have acute mental health needs and are unable to look after themselves or be looked after by a relative or carer. The majority of our patients have memory needs, where they experience difficulties with daily life. Patients will be treated with equality, dignity and respect at all times.
Visiting Hours
Dryad visiting is between 10.00am and 8.00pm. Please avoid meal times. However if relatives or carers wish to be involved in mealtime care, please speak to a trained nurse

Onsite facilities
Carers or relatives may escort patients to other parts of the hospital such as the restaurant, garden areas or the shop which sells newspapers, and other basic items. There is a specific telephone for patients which can be used up to 8.00pm for both outgoing and incoming calls. The number is 023 9252 4047.
Gosport War Memorial Hospital has two pay and display car parks, one in Anns Hill Road and one in Bury Road. Disabled car parking is available in both car parks. If you intend to arrive after 5.00pm or at weekends please use the Anns Hill Road car park for access to the hospital.
Buses are available on the road outside both hospital entrances and run to both Fareham and Gosport. Regular buses are also available to and from Gosport town centre.
