Sitting on the Council Of Governors, our Governors perform a number of key functions, chief amongst those is representing the interests of the members in their constituency.
The general duties of the Council of Governors are:
to hold the Non-Executive Directors individually and collectively to account for the performance of the Board of Directors; and
to represent the interests of the Members of our Trust as a whole and the interests of the public.
Their role does not include managing the operational business of the Trust. Governors are provided with a Code of Conduct which provides further information relating to their obligations and powers.
We have Governors to represent all our constituencies:
North Hampshire, South West Hampshire, South East Hampshire, Southampton, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and the Rest of England. Our Public Governors represent the public in those areas whilst our Staff Governors represent staff interests.
Being a Governor can be an interesting and thought provoking role.
